For the love of Cornwall

Famed as a location for some of my favorite television shows and movies, reputed to have the best garden shows in the land, I engaged on my Cornwall journey with but one destination in mind and the willingness to explore. Oh, what a great decision that was!

Like many of my favorite places, nothing happens fast in rural Cornwall. The roads are narrow and windy, the less beaten tracks are sometimes just that--tracks. The coastal towns are charming. The people are friendly. The food is delightful. And nothing is rushed. Nothing. It's wonderful!

We stayed in a great bed and breakfast hotel called The Bossiney House Hotel, which featured a great 'pub' lounge, a white-table-cloth dining room with a lovely continental buffet and hot breakfast cooked-to-order. Evenings they served gourmet meals. As you might expect on the coast, amazing fish dishes.

And right outside the doorway, coastal walks one direction, and the other Tintagel, the village where King Arthur's reputed conception occurred in the castle, now a ruin. No shortage of magical and mystical fantasy goods in shops, as well as artists galleries and more good food and pubs.

Short drives took us to Port Isaac, the village where Doc Martin is filmed, and Boscastle, where there is Witch Museum.

Are we going back? Yes. When? ASAP!!
